Badrinath: Badrinath route from Delhi

Posted on May 11, 2026May 11, 2026 by punyapaths

badrinath is one of the char dhams and honestly it feels different from kedarnath. more organized. more temples around. the hot springs at tapt kund are a blessing after the cold journey. locals say the water has healing properties.

the drive to badrinath through joshimath is stunning. river alakananda follows you the whole way. blue green water. pine forests. tiny villages perched on cliffs. its a road trip youll never forget.

mana village near badrinath is the last village before the tibetan border. the vibes are completely different. simpler life. harder life too. the people there have a resilience you can feel.

winter vs summer badrinath is like two different worlds. summer is bustling with pilgrims. winter everything shuts down and the temple closes. the priest moves to joshimath for the winter months.

travel scenic view

the architecture of badrinath temple is unique. colorful facade. intricate carvings. stands out against the stark mountain backdrop. get there early morning for the best light and fewer crowds.

the locals are what make it special. every shopkeeper wants to chat. every chai wallah has a story. these random encounters are what you remember years later not the hotels or the restaurants.

if someone asks me should i go to Badrinath my answer is always yes. always. even if the timing isnt perfect. even if you dont have enough money. figure it out. you wont regret it.
