I Wasn’t Planning to Visit Portugal (Glad I Did)
Here’s what nobody tells you. Lisbon’s hills are no joke. My legs were burning by day two. But those views? Every painful step was worth it.

But here’s what happened, traveling isn’t always Instagram-perfect. Sometimes it’s airports at 2am, sketchy hostels, and getting hopelessly lost. But those moments? They become your best stories.
The Moment That Stuck With Me
I keep thinking about found this rooftop bar where the sunset hit the Tagus River just right. Sat there for two hours, did nothing, felt everything.. Random, right? Not some famous landmark or bucket-list thing. Just a quiet moment that felt genuinely, honestly good.
That’s what travel does. Gives you these small, unexpected pockets of peace you didn’t know you needed.
Not Everything Goes Smoothly
Real talk: tried to speak Portuguese at a bakery. Said something wrong. The lady giggled but gave me extra pastel de nata anyway..
Travel guides won’t tell you about these moments. But they happen. And honestly? They’re part of the whole experience. You learn to laugh, adapt, move forward.

Would I Recommend Portugal?
Yeah, actually. But not because of some top-10 list or FOMO.
Go because you want to experience it yourself. Not for the photos (though those are nice too). Go because places have a way of surprising you when you least expect it.
My take: plan a little, stay flexible, talk to locals, eat where they eat. Simple stuff, but it works.
The Point
Not gonna write some profound conclusion here. Just this: travel is worth it. Even when it’s messy. Especially when it’s messy.
If you’ve been to Portugal, drop a comment. Tell me about your experience. Always curious to hear different perspectives.
And if you’re planning to go – have fun with it. The best stories aren’t in the guidebooks.
